The Wuthering takes its name from the elemental Earnshaw farmhouse in Brontë’s Wuthering Heights — exposed, uncompromising, unforgettable. An armchair of real presence and strong lines, it is a chair that asks to be noticed and is well worth the attention.

It is the deepest chair in the collection at 103cm, and at 88cm wide the second broadest — a genuinely large armchair with substantial rolled arms and a full, generous back. Nothing about it is restrained.

The measurements are not a formality. Before choosing it, measure the space: this chair needs roughly a metre square of clear floor and looks wrong crammed in. Given room, it is the most enveloping thing in the range and the closest to a small sofa in one seat.

Large surfaces, few seams. It will carry a dramatic large-scale print better than any other chair here, and a deep velvet on this frame is about as luxurious as the collection gets.

Designed in York, handcrafted in Nottingham. Made to order in 10–12 weeks, with free fabric samples posted before you order.
