Allow 10-12 weeks from order. Each chair is made to order by hand in Nottingham, so nothing is pulled off a shelf – that time is the frame being built and your fabric being cut and upholstered specifically for you.
Yes, and we would encourage it. Order free samples from our 64-fabric online collection, delivered anywhere in the UK at no charge – fabric colour shifts noticeably under different lighting, so seeing it in your own room matters. The 64 online are only a curated starting point: at our York design studio we hold hundreds more through our trade accounts with Romo, Sanderson, GP&J Baker, Zoffany, Osborne & Little and others.
No – the whole process works remotely, with free samples posted to you. If you can visit, our studio at Fabric Gallery & Interiors gives you access to hundreds of fabric books beyond the online range. Visits are by appointment so we can give you our full attention.
Yes – delivery is £90 anywhere in mainland UK, whatever you order.
We do not work with customer-supplied fabric. Every chair is upholstered in fabric we have sourced through our own trade accounts, which is how we can stand behind both the material and the making. With hundreds of fabrics available through the studio, we can almost always find something close to what you had in mind.
Nottingham, the traditional centre of British upholstery. Every chair is handcrafted there by skilled upholsterers.
That is the most common reason people come to us, and it is what the studio is for. We will talk through your room, its light levels and how the chair will be used, then narrow hundreds of options down to a manageable shortlist across our thirty chair designs.
Fabrics vary considerably in durability and we will steer you to something suited to how the chair will actually be used. Tell us whether it is a busy family room or an occasional bedroom chair and we will recommend accordingly.
